My husband and I worked very hard and decided to take a break. After check-in we were planning to experience the pool, but it was dirty, no one was wearing proper swimwear and no staff were inspecting. An elderly person was sleeping inside. We left.About the room: it was not maintained well. The commode was very old and broken with no proper flushing system. There were spider nests all over, the ceiling was damaged, and the towels were extremely old. The room shown on the website is completely misleading.Despite these disappointments we planned to have dinner in the restaurant, but after a 20-minute delay we received something completely different from what we ordered. We left the hotel and had to drive several kilometres to find a proper meal.The staff tried to calm us down in a very unprofessional manner. Overall it was not a happy holiday. I will not visit again and cannot recommend this place to anyone

This place is a cozy getaway from the busy life in the city. The staff were very attentive and supportive. Restaurant is nice and accommodating to large groups like families. Food was delicious, portions generous and price affordable. Breakfast buffet was nice with a range of Sri Lankan food available. The place is a huge with ample space for kids to run and play. Note that the property is huge hence might be tricky maintaining during the rainy season. Thw number of water ponds around, the dead silence and the riparian trees, the the cozy darkness surrounding the atmosphere add this strange feeling of being isolated from the rest of the world, which I love the most while being on a vacation. The pool was very clean and well maintained. There's a kids pool as well which is only 2 feet deep. Sad we had to leave and will definitely go back to spend a couple more days.

Nothing in this world is perfect. I admire the service provided for the money we paid it was beyond expectations.

Nothing all good

We spent one night there and were very satisfied, very good value for money. The room was really big with a small terrace. You can't hear anything from the street, there is a big and nice garden. We arrived with our bikes and were able to store them in the room. We also recommend the restaurant in the hotel, very tasty food and nice staff.

Cottage room was good value for money, for one night stay on our bicycle trip. For this price we didn't expect a modern room, which was correct. ? Could have done with a bit more of attention to detail: I had to fix the curtains myself. But the bed was quite ok as was the shower. It also has a nice sitting area. The restaurant & bar was really good!

Nice place with a valuable price..They also have a restaurant and pub..Rooms are clean and dry within supportive space..Most suitable for family dayout..

I like the location and it was cool and calm place to stay. I enjoyed a good service from there barman. He gave a excellent service by understanding customer. Also he was friendly and served me well.

I tried to contact them over the telephone and a receptionist was lying me and mentioned that there is no room available for booking. But I logged in to booking.com and did the reservation. My concern is no lie customers while booking.

I am so happy about Amblama.. I recommend this place. fair value for money. But I ordered breakfast and it was not served to me.I don't know why.i asked the staff and they said nothing

It was a fabulous stay at Ambalama Leisure Lounge. The location is absolutely mind healing. When it comes to the dinner, they have very good options. Really friendly staff. Highly recommended for anyone.

It's a type of adventure park amidst lots of trees, greenery. The section I stayed had semi attached units. Another, ritzier part I didn't see. Swimming pool is excellent, and restaurant menu and bar service superb.

The cheaper section I stayed in was maybe a 2 star section by western standards, but 3.5 star by Sri Lankan standards. Everything was concrete. Interesting. Water stain marks in the ceiling, only cold water, no toilet paper, sheets a bit too small for the bed but adequate. Phone, tv, needed staff to fix (partially successful) and a window that didn't lock. But clean. And hey, cheap.

Room had a big balcony, staff seemed sometimes a bit sheepish but mostly friendly and helpful. Room was quiet.

The reception hadn't seen the booking and it took quit some time to get things sorted. It might be cause they don't have many foreign visitors, but not sure. After all the waiting and filling out papers, it was revealed that the pool closes at 6pm, so we didn't get to dip in after a long day of driving as had planned. But in the morning we saw that the pool didn't look the cleanest, water was green (but not smelly) ...still not very inviting so skipped the swim. The restaurant didn't have half the things listed on the menu, so instead orded takeaway from across the street.

Staff was so friendly and very responsive to all my queries. They are very capable of handling the guests with polite manner. The hotel is surrounded by a very pleasant surrounding. We even had a small jungle walk there.

The cottages and non A/C rooms are badly need improvements/maintainance. They should consider more about maintainance works on the room. Cleanliness is a major concern. I have reserved a non A/C room and the room condition was so bad. We had to meddle with some creatures like frogs and rats which sneaked into our room. Even we needed to get a real Ambalama experience but we never expected to sleep with animals. The staff was very nice and friendly. They quickly took actions when I have informed them about this and gave a nice room in a newly built building. Food was also really tasty.
